A Pilgrimage to Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar:

For thousands of years, Mount Kailash (Kangripoche) - in western Tibet - has been sacred to Budhhists, Hindus, Jains and Bonpos. To Hindus and Buddhists in particular, it is the centre of the universe, and pilgrims walk overland for weeks or months to accomplish their lifetime goal of visiting the mountain.

Mount Kailash is also the source of four of Asia's greatest rivers; the Indus, Brahmhaputra (Tsangpo), Karnali (Ganges) and Sultejali have their sources within sixty miles of the mountain.

In September 1999, Mr. James A Pearre and Mrs. Diane DeRocher trekked with us from Simikot, to Mount Kailash and Lhasa. During their trip they kept a travel journal.
