24 Days of Adventure and Local Color

Tea House trekking is unique to Nepal. Here, local people have opened up their homes by setting up small "tea houses" where visitors can grab a meal, and get a good night's sleep while enjoying local hospitality!

Tea house trekking has a minimum of impact upon the local culture as well as the environment. It allows the local people to become entrepreneurs while enjoying the opportunity to improve their lives by catering to visitors to their villages. Trekkers get the unique opportunity to visit with the local people and immerse themselves into the local culture. It is a fun time as visitors and residents interact with each other.

This trip is for those who are in moderate condition and willing to have a sense of adventure. The tea-houses are not five star hotels, but they do offer clean, safe lodging with good food and opportunities for cultural exchanges. You can often find hot and cold showers in many of the tea houses where you will feel right at home.

The trek itself is an experience of a lifetime, taking you around the Annapurna Mountains. This is a spectacular mountain range, and your trail climbs to the high point at Thorang-La Pass (elev. 5416 m). You will pass by the world's deepest gorge along the Kali Gandaki River. The trail begins in sub-tropical elevations and climbs to great heights. The trail is gradual, allowing for acclimatization for altitude.

This is a popular trek and is well recommended by anyone who's traveled to Nepal. Call or write PANDA TREKS & EXPEDITIONS to learn more as well as to let them make your travel plans.
