28 Days in the Shadow of Mt. Everest

From the snowy summit of Mera Peak, the climber is awarded a magnificent 360° view of the greatest mountains on the face of the earth. Rising to 6,654 m/21,830 ft, it's lofty summit makes for an outstanding view that rewards any climber.

Mera Peak is the highest of the trekking peaks. It can be climbed in one day from Mera base camp and is pretty much a straight forward ascent. While technically challenging, it is one of the finest peaks for climbing in Nepal.

The trip to Mera Peak and back is 28 days from the airport in Lukwa to the mountain and back. There are glacial lakes, massive moraines, and spectacular snowcapped peaks that rise triumphantly against the deep blue Himalayan skies. There are high mountain passes to cross, with plenty to challenge you, yet very safe.

The Mongu Basin is truly remote, as is the Hungu Valley. These places are basically uninhabited except in the summer when local shepherds bring their flocks to the high mountain pastures and stay in remote kharkas made from local rock. There are dense forests, rocky crags with great overlooks, deep canyons and impressive waterfalls.

There are opportunities in the lower regions to experience Sherpa villages where you can take tea on a veranda with the local people. Namche Bazar offers some great local shopping experiences, and there are the many views of Mt. Everest and four other peaks over 8,000 meters.

This is an opportunity to climb a Himalayan mountain and to see all there is to see from its lofty heights. Your photo opportunities will be unlimited as you bring home some absolutely fantastic pictures from the roof of the world.

There are many approaches to Mera Peak, and some of them are difficult. However, your experienced guide from PANDA TREKS & EXPEDITIONS can safely take you up some of the difficult ascents to reach the summit.
