22 Days of trekking with a climb of the famous Island Peak

Island Peak (elev. 6189 m/20,305 ft) stands by itself as it overlooks the Everest region. From its top, the climber can see Mt. Everest, four other peaks over 8,000 meters plus hundreds of other peaks as far as the eye can see.

The peak gets its name because when seen from the village of Dingboche it appears as an island in a sea of ice. It is a difficult trekking peak (rated alpine PD+) and accessible with a Nepalese climbing guide.

Mt. Lhotse, the fourth highest mountain on earth, blocks one's view of Mt. Everest as it rises to 8,516 m/27,939 ft. However, your close proximity to Mt. Lhotse plus the view of the other high Himalayan peaks makes the climb worthwhile.

It isn't an easy climb, but it does reward the adventurous climber a strong feeling of satisfaction. It can be climbed in one day from high camp (elev. 5600 m/18,372 ft.)

The trek itself is considered moderate and can be done by anyone in average physical condition. Those choosing to climb Island Peak will be accompanied by an experienced mountain climbing guide who will assure your safety and enjoyment. PANDA TREKS & EXPEDITIONS will provide only the best possible climbing guide for your journey to the top.

This is a camping trek, and you will be provided a guide, porters and a good quality chef that will prepare hot, delicious food along the way.
