23 Days on the trail of Sir Edmund Hillary

The Everest region is the dream of almost every traveler who comes to Nepal. The majestic peak rises 8,8,48 meters into the bright indigo blue Himalayan skies. It's snow-capped peak stands brilliantly against the blue sky, making for one of the most significant views anywhere in the world. You may have seen snowcapped peaks before, but nothing, and we mean nothing, will prepare you for the majesty of Mt. Everest.

This trip takes you through the Everest region. Home to the Sherpa people, their ancestry dates back in these mountains to the time of Genghis Khan. Rugged, industrious and very friendly, they welcome visitors into their villages where you will see colorful clothing, happy children and plenty of smiles.

The trail will take you across glaciers, next to the sacred lakes of Gokyo and then up to Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m. The highlight of the trip will be when you stand on Kalapattar Hill (elev. 5,545 m) where you will behold Mt. Everest in all of its ethereal glory.

The journey is as much part of the experience as your destination. You will pass by wild rivers that cut deep gorges into the landscape. There will be monasteries hanging off the sides of the cliffs. And there will be the people you meet as you immerse yourself in the Sherpa culture.

This trip is a wonderful 23 days, beginning and ending in Kathmandu. You will be able to see an actual Yeti skull, preserved at one monastery which lends credibility to the legend of these giant beasts who inhabit the most remote places of the Himalayas.

Everest is the trip of a lifetime, and PANDA TREKS & EXPEDITIONS will make your trip a dream come true. We handle all of the details so you can focus on enjoying the trip. Call or write today for more information.
